This handmade piece of vintage embroidery has a lovely sentiment.

Nicely done cross stitches on ecru linen in red, yellow, blue, green, brown and black comprise this image of a couple in a carriage. They are on their way to a friend's home, a sweet little cottage off in the distance. Image area measures 8.25 by 10.5 inches. Freshly laundered and in good vintage condition. There are a couple of light stains that should come out with a good soak. Then it'll be all ready to frame or made into a pillow.

Itty-Bitty Button Bouquet with Vintage Blue Kitty Vase

This tiny button bouquet is made from pretty vintage buttons in several shades of aqua and blue. The bouquet sits in a vintage ceramic vase of a little kitten. Kitschy fun!

Three to four stacked plastic buttons comprise each blossom of this five cluster bouquet which has green wrapped wire stems and green leaves. The kitty vase is bisque pottery with a blue glaze. Total measurement is 2 inches wide by 3 inches high.

Vintage Needle Case with Thimble

This darling little sombrero is actually a vintage hand crocheted needle case!

Made of cream yarn with an olive green bow and edge, this hat is embellished with sequins and tiny beads to add sparkle. Two layers of felt are neatly sewn to the hat's underside allowing you keep a few sewing needles handy. Nestled inside the crown of this teeny sombrero is a brand new thimble so you'll be all ready to sew on a button or make a quick repair. Pretty handy! This adorable needle case is in mint condition. It's brim measures 2.75 inches in diameter.

Pair of Vintage Terrier Planters

Calling all dog lovers --- two pooch planters, both for one price!

These cute pups, one a black Scottie, the other a white Westie, are heavy weight vintage planters. The Scottie, made in Japan, has a shiny black glaze and an orange collar. The Westie has a painted on green collar (with some paint loss), black eyes and a red tongue. The Scottish Terrier measures 4 by 5 inches; The West Highland is 5 by 6 inches. Both are in good condition with no chips or cracks.

Sunnyland Washboard Bulletin Board

Creative recycling at its most fun! With the addition of my hand painted flower magnets, an old Sunnyland wood and metal washboard makes the perfect bulletin board.

Made by the Columbus Washboard Company, this vintage item is ready to hang on the wall and measures 12.5 x 23.5 inches overall. The ribbed metal area is 11 x 11 inches.

I've painted nine wooden flower magnets in yellow and red/orange which adhere to the metal part of the washboard. They'll be happy to hold a your grocery list, notes or a favorite photo.

Teapot Plaque with Rose Decal

This primitive wooden plaque is in the shape of a teapot.

Painted a buttery cream with an original vintage rose decal on the front and two handy hooks on the bottom. This piece could be used for its original purpose; to hold pot holders in the kitchen. But it would also be the perfect spot to hang those spare house keys by the back door or necklaces in the bedroom. Measures 6 by 9 inches.

This classic yellow ware mixing bowl has a ribbed design and blue and rose stripes at the top.

Marked Watt U.S.A Ovenware on the bottom with the number 8. In very good condition with no chips or cracks; only a couple of factory glaze pops on its surface. Measures 7.5 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches high.

Home Sweet Home Embroidery Pattern

It doesn't get any sweeter than this Home Sweet Home embroidered picture! And for those of you who are advanced at embroidery and want to try your hand at this charming sampler, I am offering a pattern of this design for purchase.

A digitally-traced embroidery pattern was expertly produced for me by the talented Janet McCaffrey of Primrose Design. The black and white pattern is 8.5" x 11" and comes with a color reproduction of the original to use as a color and stitch guide. Both come packaged in a plastic sleeve.

Please note that the pattern is not iron-on, so you'll need to trace it yourself. You can use an air-soluble quilters' pen and a light box for tracing the pattern onto fabric. You can even make an improvised light box by placing a lamp under a glass coffee table. It's also possible to use a well-lit window in place of a light box. Or you can use transfer paper called Dress Maker's Carbon. Another method is to use ink jet printer commercial iron-on transfers, sold in many fabric and needlecraft stores. Simply scan the pattern and print it onto the transfer paper. Then it can be ironed directly onto your fabric.
