Home Sweet Home Embroidery Pattern

It doesn't get any sweeter than this Home Sweet Home embroidered picture! And for those of you who are advanced at embroidery and want to try your hand at this charming sampler, I am offering a pattern of this design for purchase.

A digitally-traced embroidery pattern was expertly produced for me by the talented Janet McCaffrey of Primrose Design. The black and white pattern is 8.5" x 11" and comes with a color reproduction of the original to use as a color and stitch guide. Both come packaged in a plastic sleeve.

Please note that the pattern is not iron-on, so you'll need to trace it yourself. You can use an air-soluble quilters' pen and a light box for tracing the pattern onto fabric. You can even make an improvised light box by placing a lamp under a glass coffee table. It's also possible to use a well-lit window in place of a light box. Or you can use transfer paper called Dress Maker's Carbon. Another method is to use ink jet printer commercial iron-on transfers, sold in many fabric and needlecraft stores. Simply scan the pattern and print it onto the transfer paper. Then it can be ironed directly onto your fabric.

Vintage Button Bouquet in Black & White

This button bouquet is made from pretty vintage buttons in black and white.

Each blossom has four stacked buttons which are wired together. (They are not glued so you could take them apart and reuse the buttons if you wish.). The 9 inch green wrapped wire stems have two green leaves each. This cluster of seven flowers is tied up in a green grosgrain ribbon. (Vase not included.)

Folk Art Wooden Wall Pocket

This vintage wall pocket was hand made, probably in the 1950's. Perhaps a sweet son made it in shop class for his dear mom!

This piece can hang on the wall or stand up on its own. With an interesting cut out design, it sports a hand painted red flower with yellow dots and green leaves. In very good vintage condition, this wall pocket measures 7.5 inches high, 6 inches wide and 3 inches deep.

Sweet Little Yellow Pottery Flower Basket

This tiny vintage ceramic basket is loaded with charm. So sweet!

With an organic shape and sporting a pattern of embossed flowers and dots, this basket has a handle, four tiny feet and has a shiny butter yellow glaze. In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks; just some overall glaze crazing typical for a piece of this age. Measures 3.75 inches long, 1.75 inches wide and 3.25 inches high.

Bold! Giving you full coverage, this blue cotton full apron has two large quilted pockets with red, yellow, blue and green flowers.

This cobbler style apron boasts slightly capped shoulders and has red trim with contrasting yellow mini rick rack. With a snap closure on the back, this apron has a tag stating it was styled by Irving Byer. In good vintage condition with a couple of light stains which do not detract. Freshly laundered, pressed and wrapped in tissue.

Demure Vintage Full Apron with Mini Flowers

Pretty! This feminine vintage full apron is made from cotton paired with very light pink organza.

 

With pink trim and a pattern of tiny pink and purple flowers, it boasts one teensy pocket and alternating fabric panels of cotton and organza along the bottom edge. With a clever fabric panel on the back where the apron strings are fed through before tying. In good vintage condition with no rips or stains, just some minor fading which does not detract. Freshly laundered, pressed and wrapped in tissue.

To Mother, A 1946 Framed Poem to Mom

This vintage print has a sweet sentiment with an illustration of roses and bluebells in a planter. The poem is entitled "To Mother" and is a wish for a happy Mother's Day.

This print was once been given to a cherished mom by her two daughters as there is a handwritten note on the back saying "May 12, 1946. To Mother from Gloria Jean and Roberta Ann." In its original gold tone wooden frame, this print is in very good condition and measures 9 by 11 inches.
