Yesterday, after a full day spent sprucing up my daughter's new apartment, Hannah and I decided to take a stroll up Fifth Avenue to enjoy the holiday lights. First stop: Rockefeller Center!
The center's 80-foot Norway spruce is breathtaking. Covered with over 30,000 multi-colored lights, it is crowned by a Swarovski star.
Cartier, Bulgari and Harry Winston are three of Fifth Avenue's ritziest jewelry stores. Their holiday decorations are super bling-y.
Spanning the intersection of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue, the UNICEF Snowflake is adorned with 16,000 Baccarat crystal prisms. It is 23 feet in diameter, over 28 feet in height and weighs 3,300 pounds. Wow.
The window displays at Bergdorf Goodman are spectacular. They were inspired by the Ziegfeld Follies, Vaudeville revues and Hollywood musicals of the 1930s.
So beautiful. New York City at Christmas time is truly magical.
