I found this vintage teapot at the thrift store. Sporting intricate hand painting and an extra-tall body, it is really quite stunning. Sadly, it has no lid, but that didn't deter me from bringing it home where I repurposed it into a flower pot. Now it happily graces the counter of my cottage kitchen — lidless, but most certainly not useless.

I do the same thing Susan. That is a very pretty pot and it would be a shame for someone to throw it out. Looks great on your counter.

Hello, I'm from the uk. This style of black decorative pottery is known as mourning ware. It became popular in late Victorian times right through until after The Great War (WW1) when black was worn to show that one was in mourning for a loved one. Personified by Queen Victoria and her loss of Albert.
